Sweden responds to Kenya's humanitarian needs with KES 132 million |

5th February 2008 Sweden supports the ongoing efforts in Kenya to manage the humanitarian crisis with grants over KES 132 million. Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) responds to the UN Emergency Humanitarian Appeal with support to UNHCR of KES 35 million, UNICEF of KES 30 million and OCHA of KES 11 million. Four Swedish organisations working with Kenyan partners, including the Kenya Red Cross, have earlier been granted support over KES 56 million. The emergency relief includes provision of food and non-food items, shelter, water and sanitation, protection and healthcare. |
