Background Information

The Caucus for Women’s Leadership (formerly the Kenya women’s Political Caucus), The Women’s Political Alliance – Kenya, The League of Kenya Women Voters and Partners for Information and Development (a member of WPAK- K) will launch the National Database of women aspirants in Kenya ahead of the 2007 general elections.

The above activity has been a collaborative effort of the four organizations on Enhancing the Political Participation of Women in Kenya, with the main objective of Gender Mainstreaming for Improved Governance in the Country. The National Database not only reflects physical and geographical mapping of women candidates, but it provides an in depth data classification of the candidates and their profiles.

Kenya Audio Visual Archives Conference

The African Woman and Child Feature Service, the Kenya Archival Study Group and the Ford Foundation office in Nairobi, Kenya will hold the Preservation, Conservation and Restoration of Audio Visual Media Conference. 

The conference will be held at the National Museums of Kenya in Nairobi, from December 3rd – 5th 2008.
