- The AWC team was part of the international team of women journalists that produced a daily newspaper for the duration of the Fourth World Conference of Women in Beijing ,China in 1995 entitled Beijing Watch
- The City Summit A-gender - a daily publication for the duration of the (UNHCS City Summit) UN Habitat conference that took place in Istanbul- Turkey. The collaboration with the UN Habitat followed the negotiation of the Second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements from the second preparatory committee meeting held in 1995 through to the Conference itself in Turkey in 1996.
- A similar project was undertaken for the World Food Summit, which was held in Rome, Italy in 1996
- AWC together with Gender Links (SA) led a team of journalists from Africa that produced a daily newspaper, Flamme at Beijing plus Five, New York in 2000
- May 2001 - during the International Press Freedom Day celebrated in Windhoek - Namibia, AWC produced a newspaper, Flamme
- 2002, July - AWC produced a bi-weekly newspaper during the Know How conference in Kampala, Uganda. The conference brought together women in the ICT world
- 2002, August to September - AWC together with Gender Links produced a daily newspaper WSSD GEM for the World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg , South Africa
- 2003, April to May - AWC in conjunction with sponsorship from locally based NGO's produced bi-weekly newspapers "Yawezekana - Bomas Agenda" on the Constitutional Conference held in Nairobi
- AWC has produced a number of supplements in the Daily Nation for the Nairobi City Council to celebrate 100 Days in the new era of the NARC government
- 2003, August to 2004 March - AWC produced Sauti ya Katiba, a publication of the National Constitutional Conference
- AWC produced a media review, Bomas in Focus
- Advocacy and Lobbying
- AWC was involved in the advocacy campaign on Basic Needs are Basic Rights spearheaded by Action Aid Kenya in 1997 which brought together 12 development organizations culminating in the adoption of a Basic Rights Charter for Kenya
- Media Encounter - an AWC project to create opportunities for interested journalists to immerse themselves in issues of concern to Kenyan communities and to discuss these issues with the communities themselves.
- Media monitoring programs
- Investigative research on the HIV/AIDS vaccine that led to a memorandum being signed between the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) and the Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative (KAVI)
- Together with the Nation Media Group , AWC carried a one year campaign on "Breaking the Silence" - End the Domestic Violence Campaign
- Influencing reproductive health policy through the media
- End the Insecurity campaign in North Eastern Province of Kenya through a media encounter
- Lobbied for the inclusion of more women in Parliament during the 1992 and 1997 General Elections in Kenya
- Introduced the "bang-style" journalism both in the Kenyan media and also in Eastern African region in collaboration with Tanzania Media Women's Association (TAMWA) and also Ugandan Media Women's Association (UMWA) where all the media rally around an issue in order to effect policy changes
- 2002 - with the East African Standard, did a pull-out for the International Women's Day
- 2004 , 8th March - in partnership with The Daily Nation, produced a pullout for International Women's Day
