  • AWC is a pioneer media NGO in Eastern Africa in the field of engendering the media and focusing on the interface between gender, media and development.
  • Strong partnerships with like-minded organizations, such as Uganda Media Women’s Association and Tanzania Media Women’s Association in East Africa and Gender Links and Inter Press Service in Southern Africa. This ensures that we work within an international context and with the relevant institutions, while at the same time training a strong base at home.
  • Strong partnerships with major international and national institutions that work with issues within ourfocus area. They include several UN bodies amongthem UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCO, UNIFEM and UNAIDS, the Ford Foundation, the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and HIVOS among many other much valued and esteemed partners.
 

Call for Papers for the Media & Diversity Journal

The Media and Diversity Journal is a research-based and peer-reviewed quasi-academic journal published three times a year in the months of April, August and December. It is published by the University of Nairobi’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and the African Woman and Child Feature Service.

The Media and Diversity Journal (MDJ) is inviting submissions for its special issue on Identity and Conflict planned for December 2010.
