Workers were always on strike and things were not going well. However, she was able to change all these and Britain’s face changed for the better.

I must appreciate the government’s directive to abolish maternity fees for mothers who deliver in public hospitals.

In his nine point speech during his inauguration, President Uhuru Kenyatta articulately said, and has repeatedly indicated that his government will waive maternity fees.

Where are the women in President Uhuru’s agenda?

Women formed the majority of voters who had faith in President Uhuru Kenyatta's leadershipWhen the President was sworn in on Tuesday, he spoke very eloquently about the issues that his government was going to do. He specifically mentioned a no-fee charge for maternity cases that was picked up highly for the media. He also mentioned about establishing a special fund for women and youth.

What Uhuru Kenyatta and the people who helped him write the speech forgot is that the free maternity fee has been there since the days when Charity Ngilu was in charge of the Health Ministry.
