The new millennium has witnessed a significant change and shift in both women and society’s thoughts about gender equality and women’s emancipation. But much more needs to be done globally for women’s education, awareness and representation in different sectors of the society. For IWD 2010, AWC worked with other partners for the Festival CulturElles, to highlight the part played by Kenyan women in artistic creation and celebrate the status of women through the medium of art and music.
