Global Report of Women in News Media

This report presents the findings of a research study funded by the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), focusing on News Media industry players (newspaper, broadcast and cable media) from a gender perspective, in order to document the levels of women involvement at professional, decision making and governance levels. The study covered three Eastern Africa countries namely: Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. The focus of the study was print and electronic media to generate reliable global picture of the status of women’s employment in electronic and print news industries, including in news reporting, production, decision making, and policy making in the East African region.
