FIDA Kenya and WiLDAF (K) in collaboration with other Non-State Actors among them, the G10 and Land Reforms Coalitions,  with host  a National Level policy makers’ breakfast meeting on Land Reforms and Decentralization on Friday, 29th October, 2010 at the Sankara Hotel, beginning 7.30am

The breakfast meeting is designed to engage policy makers, stakeholders and representatives from the land sector so as to share and inform them on what needs to be done as concerns the implementation of land reform and decentralization. There is also  need to see through the speedy implementation of the National Land Policy.  In addition, the G10 partner organizations working on this project have been conducting civic forums on the same in various parts of the country and they will be presenting to the stakeholders feedback from the ground.

The G10 Coalition are implementing the Land Reform and Decentralization project whose key objective is to create awareness and lobby for support and implementation of the National Land Policy and the provisions contained in the Land Chapter of the Constitution.

The project aims at contributing to equitable land management and adoption of a decentralized system of government for Kenya. Since land issues remain critical, politically sensitive and culturally complex to many Kenyans, the land reform process provided in the National Land Policy and the new Constitution creates an opportune moment particularly now in Kenya in addressing economic, social cultural and political ramifications of the land issue.

The Gender 10 (G10) is a vibrant women’s movement, established to push the women agenda forward in Kenya. The organizations implementing this project are the Federation of Kenyan Women Lawyers- (FIDA- K), Caucus for Women’s Leadership (CWL), Africa Women and Child Feature Service (AWC), Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW) and Women in Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF-K).
